Covid-19 Update

Riverview Bed and Breakfast reopened on May 17th. It's been so lovely to welcome back old friends and get to know new visitors.

Despite many restrictions being relaxed, some of you may still feel a measure of anxiety about travel away from home. If you're avoiding public transport and travel by car – here at Riverview you can park directly outside the property and will have your own private entrance and door keys. In terms of maintaining some physical distancing, you can choose to have either staggered breakfast times to avoid coming into contact with other guests, breakfast served in the comfort of your own room or I’ll be happy to make up a “packed” breakfast – this may appeal particularly to those hardy folk walking the Pennine Way! (although it will be available to all).

Staying at Riverview, guests will find notices encouraging everyone to use hand sanitisers (located at the entrance and in the bedrooms) and to wash their hands more frequently. Complementary disposable masks are available on request.

During the lockdown, many people have become more attuned to nature and found pleasure in the simple, uncomplicated aspects of our “new” lives. Surrounded by dense woods and wide open moorland, there are hundreds of footpaths and cycle tracks, and an abundance of wildlife. The steep sided valleys are carved out by rivers, waterfalls and secret wild swimming places, whilst ruined mills and chimney stacks offer a fleeting glimpse of the town’s historical and industrial heritage.

Hebden Bridge is uniquely placed to offer something for everyone. With a strong sense of community, it prides itself on being a ‘Fair Trade’ town, comprised almost exclusively of small, independent retailers, cafes, bars and restaurants, and offers a warm welcome and happy memories to all who visit.

Whatever the time of year, Hebden Bridge’s natural beauty, eclectic mix of shops and eateries and warm welcome will surprise and delight, leaving you refreshed and uplifted and eager to plan your next visit!

Whether you’re looking for a romantic break for two, a family gathering, a postponed celebration or just to shake of the stresses of the past few months, Riverview Bed and Breakfast is a wonderful, quirky little place to be based. Please take a look at the rest of the website for more information and contact details.

With very best wishes to everyone – I look forward to seeing you soon,

Susy Barnes
